Standard residential pad: 4 inches

Default: $150/yd³ (2026 avg)

Estimated Result

Square Feet
400 sq ft
Cubic Yards
4.94 yd³
Concrete Material
$741
(ready-mix only)
Installed Cost
$2,400$4,800
About $6–$12/sq ft installed (includes all materials, labor, site prep, and finishing).
How this is calculated
  • Volume (yd³) = (Length × Width × Thickness/12) ÷ 27 = 4.94
  • Concrete material = Volume × $150/yd³ = $741 (ready-mix concrete only)
  • Installed cost = 400 sq ft × $6–$12/sq ft = $2,400$4,800 (industry range incl. all materials, labor, site prep, finish)

Concrete material is only part of the total — reinforcement, forms, gravel base, labor, and finishing add the rest. The $6–$12/sq ft installed range is based on 2026 U.S. national averages (Angi / Concrete Network).

Estimate only. Actual cost depends on location, site conditions, labor, access, and contractor pricing.

How the Calculator Works

1. Volume: The calculator converts your pad dimensions into cubic yards — the unit ready-mix concrete is sold in. Formula: (Length × Width × Thickness-in-feet) ÷ 27.

2. Concrete material: Volume × concrete price per cubic yard. The 2026 U.S. average is about $130–$180/yd³ (default $150). This is ready-mix concrete only — it does not include reinforcement, forms, gravel base, or labor.

3. Installed cost: Based on the 2026 U.S. national average of $6–$12 per square foot installed. This range includes all materials (concrete, reinforcement, forms), labor, site prep, and finishing. Source: Angi / Concrete Network 2026.

Estimate only. Actual cost depends on location, site conditions, labor, access, and contractor pricing.
